Mark your calendars for the Third Annual Young Engineers Symposium on January 22, 2019. This event will give Young Engineers the opportunity to showcase their projects and experiences, and network and see what their peers are up to.
Attendees will receive 1.0 hours of CE credit.
The Symposium will be composed of five 15-minute or less presentations on a variety of topics.

About the Speakers
Sean McGrath P.E., EFI Global
Sean is a forensic engineer at EFI Global where he examines and analyzes damage to existing structures and provides a technical assessment to his clients in the insurance and private industries. He previously worked for a design firm where he gained experience designing midrise structures including hotels and condominiums. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and an M.S. in Structural Engineering from Ohio University. He is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Structural Engineer (SE).
Bethany Myelle, P.E, Magnusson Klemencic Associates, Inc. (MKA)
Bethany is a Design Engineer at Magnusson Klemencic Associates, Inc. (MKA) with extensive experience in concrete high-rise building design. Her portfolio includes projects up to 52 stories tall and developments up to 3.8 million square feet. In addition to her work on No. 9 Walton, her local resumé includes River Point Tower in Chicago. She is a member of MKA’s in-house High-Rise Technical Specialist Team.
Justin Brown, P.E, S.E., Jacobs
Justin is a Structural Engineer at Jacobs. Justin has more than eight years of design, analysis and production experience in the fields of civil and structural engineering. His expertise includes transportation structure design, bridge load rating services and structural inspections with many projects successfully completed throughout the Midwest.
Kevin Kuntz, IMEG Corp
Kevin is a Structural Designer at IMEG Corp (formerly KJWW Engineering Consultants). His portfolio includes working on projects in the hospitality, commercial, residential, industrial, and retail sectors of the construction industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a master's degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Joe Porada, Thornton Tomasetti
Joe is an engineer within the Renewal practice at Thornton Tomasetti in Chicago. He received his master’s degree from Lehigh University and bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. In addition to working on the Cloud Buster Climbing Exhibit, Joe has also been involved in other adaptive reuse projects at Navy Pier and Wrigley Field during his time at Thornton Tomasetti.
