About the Speakers

Donald F. Meinheit, P.E., S.E.,  is a retired Principal of Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc. (WJE). Mr. Meinheit has over 40 years of experience in laboratory research testing, rehabilitation consulting, and in investigating failures. He has been active in concrete anchor testing and evaluation since 1979. He is also a long-time member, active contributor, and past chairperson of ACI’s Committee 355 - Anchorage to Concrete. Since retiring from WJE, Mr. Meinheit has taught a senior level structural design course and offered a graduate student seminar on anchorage behavior and code design provisions at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. 



Neal S. Anderson, PE, SE, FACI, FPCI, is a Staff Consultant with Simpson Gumpertz & Heger in Chicago with over thirty years of experience in the construction and engineering field, working on the investigation and rehabilitation of vintage steel, and reinforced and precast/prestressed concrete structures. He served as one of the principal investigators for Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute’s (PCI) wide-ranging research program on the behavior and design criteria of welded headed stud anchorages.  He presently serves on ACI 318 - Structural Building Code, and is chair of 318 Subcommittee B - Anchorage and Reinforcement.  He is active with concrete anchorage issues as a member of ACI 355 - Anchorage and C680 - Adhesive Anchor Certification; he also serves on several PCI technical committees.  He was a key author of the ACI Adhesive Anchor Installer Certification Program, and is a frequent lecturer and has published technical papers on concrete anchorage design and behavior.
