Drones: Don’t be Fogged in by Cloudy Laws!
Get help navigating the legal fog of drone regulations from lawyers Kevin Sido and Elyse Ryan. Everyone is talking about drones and how to use them in building investigation and construction. But to what extent will government regulations allow their efficient use by structural engineers? And which government has priority on regulating drones? Drones raise difficult questions on regulation, insurance, interference with privacy expectations, uncertain liability to engineers when used by contractors, and more! Kevin Sido and Elyse Ryan of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP (Chicago) will speak to these issues at the January 2018 dinner meeting. In addtion, Michael Girard of Bulley & Andrews Masonry Restoration (BAMR) will cover the steps to become FAA certified to operate a drone, and Chris Thomas will show drone video and pictures that were used to determine the repair work for a project.
Attendees will earn 1.0 hours of continuing education credit. CE certificates will be emailed after the event.
