MADE TO ORDER SUCCESS! - McDonald’s New HQ
The rapid project completion of the huge new headquarters of a globally iconic corporation required new levels of innovation and collaboration in terms of design, project management and construction with all team partners: James McHugh Construction performed construction of the core and shell for the new McDonald’s Global Headquarters in the Fulton Market District neighborhood.
Located on the former site of Oprah’s Harpo Studios, this 9-story, 770,000 sf office structure was constructed using a “top-down” construction method, meaning the building came out of the ground at the same time as the underground space was being excavated to make room for parking. By using the top-down method, McHugh fast-tracked the project and completed construction in just 18 months -- the fastest commercial office build in Chicago.
This presentation will give a project overview of the numerous engineering design and construction challenges and solutions including deep foundations, secant pile ERS, top down construction, reinforced concrete flat slab, fast cycle construction, construction engineering & logistics.
Attendees will earn 1.0 hour of Continuing Education Credit. CE certificates will be emailed after the event.
Please register before Friday, September 28th.. Registrations received after that time will be honored if possible, but cannot be guaranteed.
