October 16, 2019 - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

One spot remaining!

Join the YEC for a FREE site visit and tour of the historic Chicago Post Office at 433 W Van Buren Street. The tour will be led by WSP and the building owner. Up to 20 people may register for this event.

About the Project:

After years of vacancy, Chicago’s Old Post Office is starting to see life again! The amazing work performed by Gensler and WSP is taking an early 1900s building and transforming it into to a modern marvel. This historic building has had its fair share of difficulties in design and construction.  From non-uniform structural elements to complicated stairway implementation, no challenge is too great for this extremely capable project team.  Come see for yourself at the YEC site visit!

Location:

As shown on the map below, we will meet on the steps at the Van Buren entrance between Canal Street and Chicago River.

Requirements:

Attendees must plan to bring the following PPE to the site visit:

  • Hard hat
  • Safety Glasses
  • Field Gloves
  • High Visibility Vest
  • Closed Toes Shoes (boots preferred)

Attendance is limited so RSVP today! Use the link to the right and continue through the entire process until you see the “Checkout Complete” screen.  A waitlist will be created when we hit capacity.  Please let us know if, for any reason, you are no longer able to attend.
