Join Us at the Greater Chicago Food Depository!
Join the YEC in giving back at the Greater Chicago Food Depository on Saturday, December 4th to repack donated food and other products. The GCFD receives a lot of the food in bulk quantities and volunteers are needed to break down donations to more manageable quantities for redistribution to participating food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in Cook County.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the GCFD has increased cleaning and sanitizing their facility along with requiring all volunteers to wear a face mask over their nose and mouth. Vaccination is not a requirement to volunteer. Additionally, anyone who fits into any of these categories is not permitted in GCFD facilities at this time:
- If you have been exposed to COVID-19, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and are not yet cleared as non-contagious by state or local public health authorities.
- Within the past 14 days, you or members of your household have experienced any symptoms associated with COVID-19.
