Senior Structural Engineer
Established in 1889, the MWRD is an award-winning, special purpose government agency responsible for wastewater treatment and stormwater management primarily within the boundaries of Cook County, Illinois. The District serves an area of 883 square miles which includes the City of Chicago and 125 suburban communities, a population of 10.35 million people; 5.25 million real people, a commercial and industrial equivalent of 4.5 million people, and a combined sewer overflow equivalent of 0.6 million people.
Performs supervisory professional structural engineering work in connection with the design, layout, preparation of plans and estimates and erection or alteration of structural steel, timber, concrete and reinforced concrete structures.
Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, sanitary or structural engineering and four years of full-time, post-degree structural engineering experience related to the District's activities.
Registration as a Structural Engineer in the State of Illinois; however, for a candidate with registration as a Structural Engineer in another state, registration as a Structural Engineer in the State of Illinois must be obtained prior to appointment.
