SEAOI is the only professional organization devoted exclusively to the advancement of the structural engineering profession and the pursuit of excellence in engineering work. Our membership year is July 1 - June 30, and annual fees for each membership type are detailed below. 

Recent Graduate?  SEAOI is committed to encouraging and assisting recent graduates in furthering their professional development and network, and we are pleased to subsidize dues for the first two years of associate-level membership. Recent graduates may receive a rate of $81.50 (normally $163) for each year.  Learn more here!

Member 

(Illinois-licensed Structural Engineers)

• Local Member (MEM) - $326/year
  Living or working in Illinois, and home or work zip code is under 61000 

• Non-Local Member (MEO) - $163/year
  Both residential and work addresses are out of state or have zip codes of 61000+

Associate Member 

(Individuals practicing in the field of Structural Engineering but not licensed in Illinois)

• Associate (ASC) - $326/year
  Received baccalaureate degree 8 or more years ago

• Associate (ASI) - $163/year
  Received baccalaureate degree within the last 7 years

Affiliate Member

(Individuals who work outside the Structural Engineering profession)

• Affiliate (AFI) - $355/year

Students

(Individuals who are enrolled full-time in a college or university degree program)

• Student (STU) -$15/year
  A student ID will be requested after the membership application is received. 

Life Members

(Awarded by the SEAOI Board of Directors)

• Life Membership (LIFE)
  Requirements include 10 consecutive years of membership, retired from active practice, and a written request to the SEAOI Board, which should include a CV, resume, or bio that highlights the candidate's career accomplishments.
